Big G Software's Windows version of Off Season Stats / Weight Training is a
program of unlimited capacity which runs under Windows 95 or later. You may
keep stats for an unlimited number of events, players and seasons. You may rank
players based on one test, or based on % improvement from some previous test. You
may rank players based on one event or multiple events. You may also create workout
schedules as follows:
- Five Day Schedule -- You select events and base test. Specify % of
base and number of reps for up to 5 series each day. You may have different events
and different % and reps each day. Prints a sheet for each player.
- One Day Schedule -- You select events and base test. Specify % of base and
number of reps for up to 3 series. Prints a sheet for each player.
- Single Event Schedule -- For each event, you specify % of base and number of
reps for up to 5 series. Prints a sheet for each event listing values and reps for
each player. Hang it by the workout equipment for each event.
You may also rank players using multi season data, and print multi season data
for a player -- you may get a report listing test results for a player for all four years
of your program.
The program contains an extensive help file and a Microsoft Word 97 document which
produces a printed manual.
The program allows you to name an unlimited number of events. Each event is
characterized by a name of 10 characters or less. Events are classified as Numerical
or Timed. Timed events are measured in seconds. Numerical events are measured
in Cm, Inches, Kg, Pounds or Repetitions. You select the units of measure for
Numerical events.
The program is capable of calculating a ranking based on a point value system
for each event. You set up that point value for each event when you define the
event. By the way, the point value may be changed at any time.
When setting up a roster, info entered includes Weight, Class, Position and
Team. You have 10 characters each to use in setting up Class, Position and
Team.
Before entering test data, you may select the players to be tested from the
roster by category along with the events to be tested. For example, you may decide
to test Varsity Backs and Ends in the 40 Yd Dash, 400 Run and Vertical Jump. On the
same day, you may also test Varsity Linemen in Bench, Inclined Bench, Dead Lift and Squat.
You may create data sheets for each of these groups of players which contain only
the names of players to be tested and only the events to be tested. When entering
data for these tests, you may make the same selections of players and events and data
entry may proceed quickly and easily without having to scroll past unrelated players and
events.
When entering test data, you have a choice of two options. The first
displays all players and events in grid format. You scroll down and across the grid
when entering data. The second option displays one player at a time and allows entry
of data for all events for that player.
Reports may be sent to the printer or screen. Players and events to be
included in reports may be selected by category as described above. The following
single season reports are available: (Access sample reports via menu on the left).
- Data Sheets for Testing Players -- You select the players and events to
be tested. You may print a data sheet for all selected players and events in a
continuous report, or you may print a sheet for each player listing the events to be
tested.
- Ranking by One or More Events -- You select the players, the events and
the test data to be used in the ranking. Players are ranked on each event and then
their rankings added together to produce an overall ranking for those events.
- Ranking by Point Value for Multiple Events -- You select the players,
the events and the test data to be used in the ranking. The point value is
calculated for each event based on the point scales you set up for each event.
Points for all events are totaled and players are ranked on this point total.
- Ranking by Sum of Test Values for Multiple Events -- Test values
for selected events are added together and players are ranked on the total value.
- Ranking by % Improvement in One or More Events -- You select the
players, the event(s) and the test data to be used in the ranking. % improvement is
calculated for each player for each event. If multiple events have been selected,
the percents are added together and players are ranked based on that total.
- Ranking by Body Weight Ratio -- You select the players, the event(s)
and the test data to be used in the ranking. For numerical events, the test value is
divided by body weight. For timed events, the body weight is divided by time.
For multiple events, the calculation is made for each event and the body weight ratios are
added together. The ranking is based on this total.
- Data for All Events for Each Player for One Test -- You select the
players, the events and the test data to be used. Use this report to see which
players are missing data for a test.
- Data for One Player for All Tests in a Season -- You select the
players, the events and the tests to be used. Use this report to place in the
player's file at the end of the year.
- Workout Schedules -- You select the players and the events. You
select the test data to be used as "Base Data" for computing the workout.
For each event, you specify the number of repetitions at the % of the base data. You
may create one day, five day and single event workout sheets.
- Roster -- You may print a roster for all players or any group of
players selected by category.
- Mailing Labels -- You may print mailing labels for players. The
program gives you a choice of four of the more standard sizes of labels in two formats --
a one up format for dot matrix printers, and a sheet label format for laser and ink-jet
printers.
- Player List -- You may print a list of players which includes their
name, address, and phone numbers.
Multi season reports include:
- Data for a Player -- Lists all data from all tests
for the seasons you select and calculates % improvement between 1st and last test.
- Ranking by One or More Events -- You select the seasons, players, and
the events to be used in the ranking. The program finds the best performance for
each event. Players are ranked on each event and then their rankings added together
to produce an overall ranking for those events.
- Ranking by Point Value for Multiple Events -- You select the seasons,
players, and the events to be used in the ranking. The program finds the best
performance for each event. The point value is calculated for each event based on
the point scales you set up for each event. Points for all events are totaled and
players are ranked on this point total.
- Ranking by Sum of Test Values for Multiple Events -- You select
seasons, players and events to be used. Program finds the best performance for each
event. These values are added together and players are ranked on the total value.
- Ranking by % Improvement in One or More Events -- You select the
players, the event(s) and the test data to be used in the ranking. % improvement is
calculated for each player for each event. If multiple events have been selected,
the percents are added together and players are ranked based on that total. You may
select test data from any test on file in your computer.
