Big G Software offers two versions of Football Stats Software. This version is designed to keep stats for one team and to enter data after the game in summary form -- such as Joe had 10 carries for 56 yards, or Mike had 9 tackles, etc. The program prints out data sheets for use by your stats people during the game -- or you may use stats sheets of your own design. You may keep stats for multiple seasons, so you may get career stats for players and team stats for multiple seasons.
Requires Windows 95 or later.
Big G also has a play by play version of Football Stats which may be used
"Live" during the game, and provides game summaries and drive charts which may
be printed out during the game. You may also enter the data after the game.
You enter your roster into the computer by player name and number. Data is entered
for each player in six categories: Rushing, Passing, Receiving, Defense, Kicking, and
Returns. The program then combines these individual player stats to produce team
reports as well as individual player reports. You may enter opponent team stats if
desired.
The program contains an extensive help file and a Microsoft Word 97 document which produces a printed manual.
When using the program, the following sequence of events is followed:
Erase The Sample Data -- The program is shipped with sample data so that you may experiment with the various features and reports without having to enter your own test data. After experimentation is complete, and you have a feel for the way the program works, you should erase the sample data before beginning to enter your own data. Sample data is erased by selecting "Delete All Stats and Start Over" from the Utilities Menu.
Enter Your Team Name -- Your team name will be printed on all reports. Select "Enter or Edit Team Name" from the File Menu.
Enter Player Names Into the File -- Player names are not entered directly into the roster. Since this is a multi season program, a player may play on your team for several seasons. Players are entered into a player file and then selected from that file when assigned to a roster. The player file contains the players name and address information. Select "Enter or Edit Player Names" from the File Menu.
Set Up a Roster for this Season -- Players from the player file are assigned to a roster each season by double-clicking on the name from a list of players. The roster also includes jersey number, class, position, etc. Select "Enter or Edit Roster" from the File Menu. You will enter the Season Name when setting up a new Roster (2001)
Set Up a Schedule for Each Season -- The schedule is optional. It does not interact with the program in any way. It is included as a convenience for you to be able to print a schedule from the program. Select "Enter or Edit Schedule" from the File Menu.
Print Data Entry Sheets -- If you do not use your own data sheets, the program will print data sheets which correspond to the data entry screens. This makes data entry easy, since items on the sheet are in the same order as items on the data entry screen. Select "Data Entry Sheet" from the Reports Menu.
Enter Game Data -- You will enter your stats for each player from the data sheets. You may also enter Opponent team stats if desired. Select "Enter Game Data" from the File Menu.
Edit Game Data -- You may edit any data previously entered. Simply select the game to be edited and make corrections in the same manner as you entered the original data.
Reports available include game, season and conference stats both for individual players and for your team. Reports may be sent to the printer, screen, text file on disk, or HTML file on disk. The following reports are available from the program (click on the menu at left to view sample reports):
Season Summary Report -- Lists all games played to date for one season, along with scores and home/away column. Also summarizes games won & lost and total and average points scored by your team and opponents by season, conf, non-conf, home, away, and neutral site.
Team Offensive, Defensive and Kicking Summaries -- These reports list game, season and conference stats for your team and your opponent.
Individual Player Stats -- Reports are available for Rushing, Passing, Receiving, Defense, Kicking, Return and All Purpose Yardage and Scoring. Lists stats for each player for game, season and conference.
Roster -- You may print a roster for your team for any season. You have the option of entering six lines of text to be printed at the bottom of the roster. This text may include coaches names, phone numbers, team managers, etc.
Schedule -- You may print a schedule for your team for any season. You have the option of entering six lines of text to be printed at the bottom of the schedule. This text may include coaches names, phone numbers, team managers, legend for conf games, homecoming, etc.
Mailing Labels -- You may print mailing labels for your players. The program gives you a choice of four of the more standard sizes of labels in two formats -- a one up format for dot matrix printers, and a sheet label format for laser and ink-jet printers.
Player List -- You may print a list of players which includes their name, address, and phone numbers.
Data Entry Sheets -- Prints forms for recording data during the game for later entry into the computer.
Multi Season Reports -- Team Reports include Offensive Summary, Defensive Summary and Kicking Summary. Individual player reports include Rushing, Passing, Receiving, Defense, Kicking, Return, and All Purpose Yardage and Scoring.
